Christmas Tree Chronicles
Dec. 11th, 2001 10:54 amFor years now, I've been the one in my household to set up and decorate the Xmas tree, and then (eventually) to put it away.
I do so with no help, no complaints. I rather enjoy it, really (though help with decorating would be cool).
Two years ago, I threw away the 4' tree that my mother and I bought together many many moons ago, because my husband had said we could probably just get a real tree next time - and because we were moving and I was tired of dragging this tree around with me.
So last year, I used my father-in-law's tree..which was much easier to set up. But - oh no! - he gave it to my mother-in-law when she moved out! Augh!!
This has left me treeless thus far. 8(
I'm less than happy..I'd even bought a bunch of new (Halloween) lights for this year's tree!
I ventured out to Target last night to see what they had on sale..the one I can afford is down to $14.99, but it's sorta...Charlie-Brown-Tree lookin'.
So the search continues.
(My sweetie promises he'll make sure I get a tree at some point, but...)
Anyway. I'm sitting here at work, listening to a male coworker set up the office tree. And I've never heard a person complain so much - it's such a "look at me!" kind of thing.
*siiiiigh*
We are NOT amused.
......well..maybe just a *little*... :)
PS - Cool Xmas Stuff:
Target is selling painted light bulbs!!
They have candy canes, Christmas trees, Santas, and Snowmen!
They're REALLY cool - and they have these light display bases as well so you can either buy a bulb and a base and put it in a window - or (as some friends of mine did) just put them right into a light socket (they did this in their bathroom around the mirror - it's really cool!!!)!
(Couldn't find a picture to post..sorry!)
