dog problems

So the visiting dog had to go home.
She and Gemma have been fighting a *lot*. She (Toto) got Gemma really good last night - around her left eye and on her left ear.
We're not sure what's going on - they were originally doing really well - but over the past few days, Gemma's been picking on Toto (dominance issues?).

And even though Toto *did* kill my chinchilla (Chuck caught her killing a rabbit this weekend....sigh!), I feel bad that she and Gemma aren't getting along.

OMG she's fighting with you dog and killed a chin? I'm so sorry! I hope the doggies does well... poor chinnie...

I wouldn't babysit that dog ever again!

Yeah...when I got back from Chicago, I was told that one of the dogs had gotten into one of my chin cages. Fox (who was about 2-1/2) apparently made a run for it and got caught by Toto (I'm assuming Toto because our dog Gemma has NEVER even TRIED to get into the cages!..and we now know Toto kills rabbits)...his death saved his dad's life, though, I assume - Gomez (blind in one eye from a huge cataract and an arthritis sufferer) made it into the basement with no harm at all done to him.

So...I'm very sorry about Fox...but I'm relieved beyond words that at least Gomez escaped. (I'm just worried about him getting depressed...he doesn't like to be alone. I'm half-seriously hoping someone will call the museum soon with an elderly male chinchilla that needs a home..it would be a good solution..)

I am sure someone has an older male who needs a home... maybe one that has also lost a cage-mate and needs some attention as well?

And yeah...it stinks.
And now that Gemma has a pretty good bite on her ear from Toto (not that she didn't deserve it), I feel even worse. :/
