fish update
Feb. 19th, 2002 11:23 amForgot to mention..
Peace still rules in the fishtank. (YAY!)
I really need to be much more careful, though.
In November, I bought a ropefish, because it looked cool (like an eel), the fellow in the pet store said it could eat regular flake fod, and I thought, 'Hey - it's a fish - what's the worst that could happen?'
WELL.
When I got home, I did some research.
These fish are great escape artists.
They're related to lungfish, so can live for up to 5 hours out of water.
They will only eat frozen food, like bloodworms.
They're wild caught - they're difficult to breed in captivity.
And hey - they usually die in about a week!
<- stupid pet owner
Sure enough, mine was dead in about 8 days.
Didn't even know I had a fish prejudice until that point.
*sigh*
