I was a very bad pet owner tonight.
I made a compulsive fish purchase: a female betta.
My fish tank currently houses 2 angel fish, 1 male betta, a rather large catfish, and 2 leftover female guppies.
So I thought a female betta would work out. I had a brain fart, basically; it really is rarely recommended to put a female with a male, or a male with a male, or to do anything except buy one male, if you must, and leave well enough alone.
Well. So far, so good. I think they actually like each other. He's showing off terribly for her; she's displaying back; and he hasn't attacked anyone else yet. One of the angels has rushed him a few times, and he's flirted with the guppies (silly little betta)..but so far, so good.
Hopefully they'll all keep on keeping the peace.

Better a male and female then 2 males....
