Well, to make anything more drastic than mere color changes, you need to "createa style" and the "modify" it. Click on "modify style" on the left panel of the main livejournal.com page. It'll direct you to an area where you can create a style. Simply use whatever style you have now. After that, you can modify it...on the "modify style" page, the HTML code for the livejournal page is given in one of the windows. Simply go into the <BODY> tag and specify the address of the background file you want to use.
