very cute chinchilla moment
Feb. 13th, 2002 01:06 pmLast night, I was spending some quality time with Fred, my crippled chinchilla. She's a standard grey, and very cute, but missing a back foot, so she has this permanent hunchbacked way of standing which made her an undesirable pet - which led to her being donated to the Academy - which, eventually, led her to joining my little menagerie.
Anyway, Fred's become very friendly and curious about what's going on outside her cage. So I picked her up and started scritching around her ears..something I've discovered she really likes..she even likes it when you gently rest your knuckle sorta inside her ear and gently rub.
But when I stopped (partly because I was being more aggressive than usual and wasn't sure if she was enjoying it), she chittered REALLY LOUD at me until I started again!
Cutest dang thing.
I took a bunch of pics recently; whenever I get them developed, I hope some are worth sharing. My chins aren't nearly as cute as
brenda927's - they're either grey, beige, or black velvets - but of course *I* think they're *wonderful*. :)

Hy Romeo is a slightly crippled chin as well. He was born breeched adn while momma was tring to get him out she bit all the toes off of one front paw. He is fine and has no trouble with it, but he has to eat one-handed
But he was just so darn cute I couldn't resist his charms... he IS romeo after all....
