In regards to getting ashes put on your forehead for Ash Wednesday:

Penelope: "Well, Sparky, we took care of our souls today!"

"Wow! That's some pretty strong dirt, huh??"
"Happy Dirt Day, ladies!!"

(..I have always had a very hard time taking Ash Wed seriously. Guess it's a result of a Protestant upbringing..)

I was raised catholic and think some of the rituals are a crock of crap, which is why I don't lay claims to the religion

the best thing outta the whole day was Fat Tuesday because it's Pascki Day!!!!

Today is the first day of Lent
The whole period of "getting ready" for Easter (christ's rising from the dead)

I dunno ALL the reasons behind these little days. I know Palm sunday, and the holy days before Easter but what was up with the Ashes on Ash wendsday.... must have skipped that sunday school class or something
All I konw is they burn the palms from that pasts years palm sunday and then smudge the ashes on your head.
and that it's the first day of lent (hense Marti Gras yesterday, leave it to religion to thorw a wild bash the night before they must start being holy, start of holy season with a fat full belly and a hangover!)

Admitting irnorange about religion isn't a biggie, how can everyone know everything about every religion!?!
