In the drama that has become the Advisory Council Election, LJ staff is being rather reticent to give up much information about the purported threats against candidates.

Here via 'song, and just wanted to say one thing - I'm a friend of the person who had the threat made against them, and the reason that staff are not giving out much information is that the police are involved in the case and they don't want to give the person making the threats any more clues. It's not some big bad conspiracy, it's out of concern for their safety.

Right.
But they're not looking out for the safety of other people by giving out information or statements.

I'm not saying it's a conspiracy, so do not assume as much.

I *do* believe that the LJ staff owes it to everyone involved to be more forthcoming with information.

I beg to differ. Think of the presidential campaign - all three candidates have probably had a lot of credible threats against them. You don't see that on the news, and why?

It just gives the people making the threats attention, which in turn makes them more likely to act on the threat.

It's also possible the police have asked them not to release information while the investigation is going on.

Then the candidates asking for more information should be allowed to talk to the police.

legomymalfoy got a death threat. She's not backing down. And she's on vacation, which is sort of hellish timing.
