First off: How the heck can any one human being own enough t-shirts to fill three drawers?

I keep getting rid of clothing. And then I go to put laundry away and realize I still have far too much stuff.

I think someone is sneaking in here and adding to my wardrobe while I'm at work.
*nod*
(...But I like their fashion sense, which makes the effort to jettison belongings all that much harder.)

Also:

Ok, so. I was given a Macy's gift card - $25 - and I couldn't find anything that I really really wanted.

I finally settled on a pair of jeans that, truth be told, I had no business buying, but they fit (everything but the length) and they were $9.99.

And...I have no bloody idea where they are.

Hehehe...that makes two of us..I have 3 drawers: One drawer has mostly casual tshirts, ones with pictures or logos on them. One drawer has mostly dressier shirts, plain or with patterns on them that don't look too skeezy. The third are big, oversized shirts that I use for night shirts.

Its out of hand. Half of them I never wear, because either they're holey for falling apart, or they don't fit. Why I still have them I don't know.

And today..I just bought another one at the flea market. Tyedye in shades of purples and blues. I couldn't resist.

Yes, its a sickness.

Part of it, for me, is that there are:

* work shirts
* haunt shirts (rarely worn but because they're from friends and they're for shows I love, I can't get rid of them)
* dressy shirts

So the work shirts do get rotated out when they get too covered in paint, but as I've gotten tidier, that happens less and less.

To my credit, I can usually resist buying shirts because I know what I have at home is perfectly adequate for my needs. (Though I allow myself a few indulgences during the Halloween season, and I really shouldn't..)

I am more easily seduced by warm clothing because I'm always cold, but I've managed to jettison a bunch of stuff I didn't wear last winter.

I just don't understand how I can keep jettisoning, not buying new, and still seem to have too much! *grr*

still.

(Though I've realized that it's probably because it's so much like Ercoli.)

I have no idea how many T-shirts I own now. I know that a couple of years ago, I packed away a decent-sized grocery box of all the ones that I am unlikely to fit into at any time in the near future, but, for sentimental reasons, didn't want to throw away.

I know at one point, I had over 20 t-shirts just with wolves on.

I have whittled down my 'nope, can't get rid of these yet' t-shirts to...I think 5. Funny how they become more memory than clothing..

I have a lot of t-shirts because I got them at events, cons, concerts you name it as keepsakes. Some are gifts but all mean something. In order to make room (I too had three drawers worth of shirts) I took all the special ones that I didn't wear and set them aside to make a quilt out of them. Of course, this has yet to happen, but it is an idea. I intend to stitch the squares together then stitch them to a sheet to keep the t-shirt fabric from stretching everywhere when I try to quilt it.

I really like that idea, too!
I now own a sewing machine; in theory, I could finally learn how to quilt.
