geeeeeeeek (Who talk)
Jan. 16th, 2008 11:48 pmWe're watching more Who tonight, and I just completely embarrassed myself in front of my movie watching buddy by my reaction to the end of "Bad Wolf" being hands pressed together in almost-prayer, covering my mouth, and just repeating over and over, "OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD!!!"
"What?!?! Do Daleks scare you?"
I pointed at his computer screensaver, which is currently showing multiple random Original Series Who photos.
"See THAT? THAT Dalek?" (The pic in question is from the Jon Pertwee years.) "THAT is what Daleks were to us. THAT. Maybe 10, on a small sound stage. Not...THAT!!! Not SHIPS FULL OF THEM, all levitating and zipping around and ready to literally take over the friggin' UNIVERSE!!!!"
..Whew.
I need a drink.
Something stronger than the peach tea I'm currently sipping.
And I really really need more data on the heart of the TARDIS.
(And goodness, I love her so.)

Date: 2008-01-17 10:46 pm (UTC)The stories themselves I am not 100% in love with- there are some weak plots - but the characters are fabulous.
The reactions I am having to the show are often completely different, and much more intense, than my friend's reactions.
It's sorta funny, how my memory is being jogged. Like, during the regeneration scene, they're trying to figure out what the Doctor needs, and I blurted out, "He needs the Zero Room!"
"...What?"
"Oh! Um. Never mind."

Date: 2008-01-17 10:51 pm (UTC)But I can say that I think each season gets better and better. I loved Christopher Eccleston. But David Tennant is...undescribable. I'm madly in love with him. And he's fabulous. And you think your emotions come unglued in Season one? Just wait. ;) I've gone through boxes of tissues with some episodes. Seriously.

Date: 2008-01-17 11:17 pm (UTC)Me: Ooo...you get to see a regeneration in this episode!
Him: But I really like this Doctor. I don't think I'm gonna like the new one...
Me: I sorta thought so too, at first. Just wait.
(five minutes into David Tennant's intro)
Me: Well?
Him: Ok, you're right. He's great!
(And..hm. Let's see. A quirky Doctor wearing a pin stripe suit. La! My first Doctor crush! Surprise, surprise...*blush*)
