Has anyone heard more from Gnarls Barkley than the song "Crazy"?
I'm quite taken with the sound and the lyrics, and the website is a great deal of fun, but I'm sorta out of the loop musically.

So.
Is the rest of the album like "Crazy"?
Do you like the music?
Do you recommend it?

Crazy
-- Gnarls Barkley

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions have an echo
In so much space

And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Probably

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice

Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I wanna be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done

But Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably

Uh, uh

That album has a faithful cover of the Violent Femmes's song "Gone Daddy Gone", quite a bit more good music, and one complete and utter mind-fuck called "Necromancer". I always feel a bit filthy after listening to that song. And not in a good way.

I couldn't comment on the music, but I always did wonder what loving parent came up with the name Gnarls.

Fear not! "Gnarls" is an invention of the bandmembers, one of whom is the DJ named Danger Mouse (who also produced Demon Days by Gorillaz, which I love).

I want to hear that Gnarls Barkley album, too (and they're working on a second one now). They're also pretty quietly theatrical; I saw them perform on an MTV awards show, all dressed in costumes from the original Star Wars trilogy (Chewbacca on keyboards!).

First off, now this is the second comment I am making in your journal today but I just wandered over and so I swear I am not some sort of stalker.

On the whole album by Gnarls Barkley. I personally LOVE it.
This is my favorite song from the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azEegtB6qNg
I would say Crazy is a good sample though a little more popy then some of the songs.

:)

Didn't think you a stalker - added you as a friend to give you a wee bit more access. :)

Thank you for the recommendations, both musically and food-wise.
