"The Guest"
Who is the guest? I was in your circle.
Yet every guest is something else besides his hours somewhere;
for from being a guest's most primeval sources
something else takes part with him, that he knows nothing of.
He comes and goes. There's nothing permanent about him.
Yet he suddenly feels, because someone's sheltering him,
he survives in the balance of human kindness
equally distant from known and unknown.
