Equitable Gas just showed up to turn off my gas.

..Um.

I don't have an account.

I don't have a working furnace.

I did however have a nosy neighbor standing outside with me who started yelling at the gas company guy on my behalf. Apparently my lack of heat has become quite an issue in this small neighborhood. By the time she was done, the gas company fellow looked pretty disgusted, too...and I had to say nary a word.

So what should have been an 'oh poop' moment ended up just being pretty dang funny.

Are you sure you do not live in Philly?
That is pretty typical for out here, including delivering oil where there is no oil tank, just the open pipe (which should have been closed off but never mind that).
