PA Ren Faire to honour military heroes!

Heroes of the Realm
Her Majesty honors the members of all active Military, Reserve Members, Police, Professional and Volunteer Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians and VFW Members and their immediate families with a $15.00 admission price at the Front Gate with valid Service ID.
Nominate a Hero Immediate family members can nominate individuals to be considered for special recognitionon Heroes of the Realm Weekend, September 19&20. Individuals should be nominated for personal sacrifice, significant impact on others’ lives ,and loss of life in the call of duty or other acts of heroism by those in service.
Six individuals will be selected by Faire staff to attend the Faire on Saturday or Sunday of Heroes of the Realm Weekend. The selected individuals will receive:
Complimentary Faire admission for up to 10 persons, Complimentary meal vouchers for up to 10 persons, Knighting by Queen Elizabeth at the Finale in Song, Story of heroism will be shared with audience members Personalized certificate of recognition, Personalized, engraved sword.
Submission Deadline: July 31, 2009 Individuals selected will be notified by August 17

As much as I loved my layout, I changed it today because (a) a loved one was having trouble viewing the previous layout, and (b) GIANT SQUID GIANT SQUID GIANT SQUID!!!
In Other News, am planting a metric poopton of roses of Sharon my ex-landlady..um...encouraged me to dig up for her yesterday. I think that if they survive, it'll make this house much less ZOMG ugly on the outside. I will have to take pics. Sadly, planting these things has meant some major archaeological-type digging, and so I've had to do it a bit at a time.
Also decided to try putting in some lily of the valley along the front steps; if they take to the area, it'll be quite a nice little thing. (They are one of my two favourite flowers.)
Even though I don't think I'll be here to enjoy much of the fruit of my labour, it feels good to try to bring some beauty to this property.

Oh goodness, the weather is trying to turn crappy..I should get back out there..
