Has anyone made soap?

I know it sounds like a set-up question, but..

I've been buying the supplies, bit by bit, and I think I'm ready to take the plunge.
(Michael's is having a sale on really good soap, too..woo-hoo!)

Of course, now I'm looking online and see some *very* tempting (and expensive) gargoyle molds as well..but I'll be good. I have my small budget stuff to start with.

BTW, I have no idea why I'm so into the idea of doing this.
Maybe I really do need to sleep more.. :/
