I know it sounds like a set-up question, but..

I've been buying the supplies, bit by bit, and I think I'm ready to take the plunge.
(Michael's is having a sale on really good soap, too..woo-hoo!)

Of course, now I'm looking online and see some *very* tempting (and expensive) gargoyle molds as well..but I'll be good. I have my small budget stuff to start with.

BTW, I have no idea why I'm so into the idea of doing this.
Maybe I really do need to sleep more.. :/

My only advice for you, having heard a tale of woe from my friend we'll just call soapguy, is -- make sure it's totally cured before attempting to use. Even if it looks cured, wait as long as it says you should. Because lye hurts, especially when it gets up your ass.

That is all.

Hehehehe

Well, I was taking the Typical American approach and using the ready-made soap bricks that the craft stores sell...but I *had* wondered about the "real" process, so I'll keep that advice firmly in mind.

(..*whuf*..)

I bought the little block of soap the you menlt and put into molds.
I got a kit from micheal's for scrubbie soap (they have those little scrubbie poofs inside them)

it was pretty cool, and they made great X-mas gifts!
