Told her that rent will get to her around the 15th - next week - and the end of the month.

Response (via text): "You mean this Monday?"

"Nope, I mean next week."

"Wow your pays really suck."

"Yes. Yes they do." (Resisted urge to say anything about how much worse it sucks than my neighbors, and saaaaaay if you're gonna pay THEIR electric bill, I have a bill or two you could cover!)

"Are you home? I can have my daughter pick up checks now."

"No, I'm not."

(Actually, yes I am. But ya know...you're getting the money next week. Sending your daughter over now to get post-dated checks? Not necessary, and I plan to take advantage of this chance to tear off my soaked clothing and check email in my underthings without worrying about you sending your daughter over here. Because I'm sore, I'm muddy, I'm unpleasantly damp, and even though I've once again spent most of the day alone, I prefer to pick the company I keep, thankyouVERYmuch. And right now? That's pretty much limited to my cat.)
