work woes/corporate blues

And the morning keeps getting better..*growl*

Last week, a coworker asked me to delete a certain vendor from our data supplier's information; she'd been told that we didn't want it.

I started doing research into it. The issue quickly became the proverbial hot potato, and after looking at the company's website, printing off the company's description and product listing, and asking 5 different people about it (people who are supposed to be responsible for such decisions), I was finally told to delete the data. I was also told by one of the main players, "Someone else just questioned this last month - I told her the same thing, that we didn't want those products."

Well, at this point I went back to my supervisor and said, "Listen, this needs to be documented so that someone else doesn't question it again next month and so that we're all getting the same information." She fully agreed, and started going about trying to get the decision documented

Today, one of those people (unfortunately, that same main player described above) said, "Well, I never said that," throwing the decision into confusion again. And because I didn't document it, it looks like I lied. (Friggin' lovely.)

The other kicker is we did find *another* bit of documentation showing that someone once upon a time did list this vendor as one we wanted to track in our database. But because our database SUCKS, you have to really play with it to find this information. (I had to tweak it a few different ways to get this new bit of info.)

So I'm still going to get chewed on.
I see it coming.
I'm sooo happy.

...When you wake up and are convinced it has to be Friday and you get to sleep in late tomorrow..then you realize that it's only Tuesday..you should prlobably just stay in bed.

It's sad when you must start asking to have things written down so that person can not harass you the next week!
NONE of them rember telling you to delete that thing?

you need to wear in the bird skull as a necklace and go total medicine-woman on them (maybe they'll leave you alone when you consult your medicine bag over every decision, and guess what it says NO)
