looks like crispin glover, except barely old enough to shave.
hold on, is there a petition somewhere we can sign to get crispin in the part?

I'm confused. Back when we were in Boston, I read that Paterson Joseph was announced as being the next Doctor. (He was the Marquis de Carabas in Neverwhere.) I guess it wasn't a real announcement after all, but it read like something official. Oh well. We'll see how things go.

I do wish they wouldn't keep changing Doctors so quickly. If they stick with continuity, which they've more or less been doing, there can only be two more after this one.

The thinking seems to be that they will probably break canon and extend the reincarnation rule past 13.

(The Master's already flagrantly broken said rule.)

Yeah, I know, which is what bugs me. That's one of the reasons why the Master was so bad originally, that he wouldn't just accept the 12-regenerations rule and did everything he could (no matter how evil) to extend his life. If the Doctor were to do that, well, is he any better?

Sometimes being a nerd sucks. :/

No, I agree. As much as I love the Doctor, it will frustrate me mightily if they decide the 12 regenerations don't matter anymore because it was a matter of personal choice rather than biology.

(Additionally, I sorta have a problem counting the '99 movie as #8. If that's the case, they should drag his ass into the studio and give us a bunch of flashback episodes or something. Which is completely impractical, of course.)

Have you listened to the Big Finish audios with him in them? They're really good.

I wish they'd have him on the current series, too, even if just for a little bit. But maybe Paul McGann doesn't want to. I know he wouldn't want to wear the wig again. But he seems content doing the voice in studio.

Oh, holy crap. I had no idea you hadn't heard of these.

http://www.bigfinish.com/Doctor-Who

They started in 1999 (officially licensed by the BBC) with stories of the 5th, 6th, and 7th Doctors sort of squished between stories from the show. Same actors (including the companions), just audio-only, so you get good stories without the bad special effects. A year or two later, they started doing 8th Doctor stories taking place after the TV movie.

I've got most of them as MP3s...

I might be willing to hook a someone up if she emailed me her address. It's a lot of stuff, though. Not counting the actual CDs that I bought back before I was poor as poot, I've got about 17 GB worth.
