I decided to go take care of my beloved's savannah monitor, Wolfgang. He got a very long overdue soak in the tub (surprise surprise, he *can* get out of this one), and his cage got an even longer overdue cleaning.

I also cleaned the litterboxes and washed up all the "inappropriate" spots the cats decided to pee at. (One rather creatively managed to pee up through the vent at the top of the litterbox and spray the wall. It sounds insane, but all the evidence points to that being the case.)

I'm still grumpy as hell. Maybe it's a cycle thing...but hey, if this is PMS..maaaaan, lock me in a closet now cuz I may be homocidal in a few days.
:/

heh

isnt it amazing all the places animals can find to urinate? I found some pee on a photo album that there should have been no posible way anything could have gotten to it...amazing

I'll try to post a picture of him tonight.

A savannah monitor is a type of monitor lizard...think Komodo dragon; then shrink it down to about 3 feet and take out the nasty virulent diseases from its mouth. :)

I'm a very big fan of monitors. They're generally easy to care for; impressively sized; look sorta like dinosaurs; generally well-tempered (depending on species). They're also sorta getting trendy, which is...worrisome; these guys are easier to care for than iguanas, and - IMHO! - not as dangerous, generally speaking, but they *do* get to be pretty large - 5' or more.

If I had the money, I'd build a space big enough and easily hosed out so I could have a water monitor. BUT..they're really too big to be considered a house pet, and boy, are they stinky! So..I don't think I'll be having one of those. Instead, I focus on Jason's savannah.

It's pretty cool.

...Until you have to move. 8(

I went from having a chinchilla, rat, and dwarf hamster (all of which could be hidden in a closet in an emergency if the apartment maintenance people were coming in) to having.. let me see...I think we had three cars (a station wagon, a SUV, and a van) involved in moving all the critters last time.

AUGH!

It's a minor level of hell, I assure you.
