Shallow stuff...Hair!
Jan. 8th, 2002 01:27 pmSo after posting the far-too-big picture below, I started wondering.."What color *should* my hair be?"
I don't have any current pics of it, but here's one pic of what it should naturally be:

And here's what it sorta looks like now, after a few years of dyeing it red:

I'm very tempted to go back to purple (see the VERY large picture in last night's post)...it's more high maintenance, but it sure is fun to watch management at work avoid mentioning it...and my beloved likes it, too.
Whatcha think?

Nevermore

i think the look from managment alone would be worth at least a temporary dying of purple (or maybe a dark blue?)
Hmmm.
Date: 2002-01-09 09:26 am (UTC)I'd considered dark blue, as well, but my beloved (flaunting his art degree) says I don't wear blue well.
I also considered some dark shade of green, but...eh. I have a fey fixation, and the purple makes me think more of Faery than the other choices.
Thanks for the feedback! :)
Re: Hmmm.
Date: 2002-01-09 07:29 pm (UTC)I wish I had the guts to do something dramatic with my hair...
Guts?
Date: 2002-01-09 08:35 pm (UTC)It was actually pretty funny.
Bleach Attempt #1 resulted in a norwegian sort of blonde at the roots, darkening to a punky kind of caramel at the bottom.
Bleach Attempt #2 a week later to try to lighten the ends did no good at all.
Color Attempt #1 happened next. We mixed two colors of Manic Panic (which is a gradual-wash-out dye) together - light and dark purple. Maura twisted my hair as she went, slapped a plastic bonnet on me, and had me run a hair dryer over it. Because of the way she twisted the hair to get it all to stay put, it came out kinda...striped. Sorta. Half purple, half white-blonde. Parts were a little mroe blue than purple; other parts were silver. It was pretty darn funny.
Color Attempt #2 - after buying more hair color (my hair isn't super-long, but it *is* thicker than it looks and it always seems to take more color than it should), we hit the not-purple-bits, didn't twist, still baked..and it came out as you've seen in the pics.
I've always wanted to try this sort of thing.
Fortunately, I expect it to go horribly wrong, so when it does, I can laugh about it. :)
