He Who Must Not Be Named
Dec. 29th, 2001 08:53 amOnce upon a time, a boy and girl (who happened to be siblings) passed through a trial by parents: an evil stepmother and an ignorant father. In the ways of such stories, the tribulations of the children went unnoticed by most, so the little ones held to each other for support and relief.
But as time progressed, and the siblings moved beyond the reach of their abusers, the boy began to change. Perhaps it was a spell; perhaps it was that his heart became home to a shard of ice; but eventually, he came to believe that the abusers were good, and his sister was bad.
That was many years ago, but the spell holds true. The sickness spread (as such sicknesses do) into a sort of paranoia - a fear of persecution, a terror of having anything personal known to the world at large - even having his name listed on a family tree by a rather heartsick mother was too much for him to handle.
Today is the birthday of He Who Must Not Be Named.
May it bring a spring to his heart.

On a different subject...

Date: 2001-12-29 08:58 pm (UTC)It was a very very very long day. We got very lost. I played good wife and let Jason's grandmother tell me all her illnesses and about everyone who's died in horrible car accidents and who all is receiving crappy care in retirement homes.
After being lost for **FOUR HOURS** I finally lost it and started laughing hysterically as we drove through Lancaster, PA for the fifth time.
My stepdaughter now probably is ready to commit me.
*sigh*
But I'll write something positive about it tomorrow, I promise.
