paying the piper

So I was absent from LJ (and from many things) last month due to health concerns.
I was also out of benefit time, but I just couldn't be in work last Thursday and Friday. My manager's last day was Friday, and she told me to not worry about the time - to take care of myself - so I did so by staying at home and healing.

Today my manager's boss called me in to ask what my now-ex manager had told me in regards to how we'd handle that time. She's not here today, and though she's not my most favorite person, I certainly don't want to misrepresent her. I told him that we'd not resolved the issue, but that I was very willing to take the time without pay.

After grumbling and protesting, he basically decided that if I put in a few hours of overtime this week, he'll absorb the time..'but don't let it happen again!'

Geeeeez. I've only worked for this man for 13 years and have never done this before. I think I can manage to make it a one-time deal.
*sigh*

I gotta get another job.

Holy sheet you get sick once in 13 years adn need some time off and they act like such SOBs?!?!?

gosh darn I would hate to be in your office and come down with a major ilness or injury!

overtime eh? ~shutter~ oh man I feel bad for you! But at least it's a short week so the weekend is sooner then it appears and next week has holidays as well

..the problem wasn't that I was sick, but that I was out of benefit time. Which is why I told Norm I'd be very willing to take the time without pay. I just resent the attitude of "you're trying to get away with something"...because, if I'd had a choice, I would have rather been at work than needing to be at home recovering. Ya know?

*sigh*

I really think I'm going home on time tonight. I need to go back to bed. *grumble*

But..YAAAAY...SHORT WEEK NEXT WEEK, TOO!! :)

Well still durn it! They have to deal with the fact that once in awhile it happens!
and you offered the no pay thing they should have just been better about it

Just one more reason to hope and pray that one of my possible job op's work out.. :)

yeah
sucky jobs make life just plain aweful (another reaon I am hoping to get something other then this one!!)
