Loved reading this. It's a little bitter sweet, as I too do the tree by myself and hope and wish. I've only not had a tree one year ever but it's always been a just me thing and one day I hope it won't be. All of my ornaments have a story, a trip they are associated with, a gift from a person, or things from my grandmother's tree. I love the stories and wish I had someone to share them with.
