The feelings of shame.
I am SO annoyed and insecure and full of 'but but but I thought I was being fairly careful/I'm not stupid/I run AVG/how could this have happened?'
Poor
sealgair has had to talk me down a few times over the past 24 hours.
justthedriver is also reassuring me. Thing is, I know I f'ed up when the virus-thing first hit because of what I didn't know.
Didn't know that when you see a window pop up that says something that looks scary, clicking on the little "x" in the upper right corner may actually trigger the virus rather than making it go away.

That's pretty dang evil stuff right there.
So! Anyway.
If anyone out there gets hit with the Antivir Solution Pro "virus checker" - its icon looks like a shield and it will auto-install itself on your taskbar - should check this out:
http://www.softsailor.com/how-to/32770-how-to-uninstall-remove-antivir-solution-pro-virus-removal-guide.html
And use Malwarebytes if you do have it.
And if you're using Firefox, use the NoScript plug-in.
And don't click on that stoopid X to close the 'do you want to install this?' box.
*grumble*
