8 Things meme

(Note that I did this meme here, but I was tagged again - this time by the lovely
shadowwolf13.)
- Each person writes eight random facts/habits about themselves.
- People who are tagged need to write their own blog about eight of their things and post these rules.
- At the end of your blog, you need to choose 8 people to get tagged and list their names.
1. I was first published at the age of 7, in a feminist magazine called Hera.
(It was an admittedly odd little tale about a boy named Dusty and the pet rabbit that had to be killed off because it got too big for his house.)
(Gender issues much? Why, yes, apparently.)
2. I used to sing to squirrels when I was a kid/teen.
(They're great listeners. I highly recommend it.)
3. I was given the title "The Queen of Quirk" by one of my editors.
4. My first nightmare occurred when I was in kindergarden. I then went nightmareless until I was in my mid-20's.
5. Tangentally to this: Vampires have always been teachers in my dreams. Teachers, or challenges. Never something to be feared.
6. Also also, I distinctly remember having an understanding of reincarnation when I was in kindergarden.
7. I was a passionate Sherlockian in my teens, and told I was the area's expert on the subject when I was in 11th grade.
(This was not something I embraced or was even proud of. All I could think was, 'How could I be an expert on ANYTHING at this age?' But it did teach me to never assume knowledge about a given subject.)
(Did you know "The Blue Carbuncle" is really just the story of Little Jack Horner? That was such a grand discovery for me.)
8. I have never mastered the art of bed-making, let alone sheet-and-blanket-folding. And frankly, I have little interest in improving this ability (except when this lack of skills affects my ability to be A Perfect Hostess). I enjoy a properly made bed (LOVE hotels!), but...I'm much more comfortable in bed when I have a nest to curl up in.
