LJ Advisory Council - Have you voted? Have your friends?

Current vote count (going off of Poll #1): 14,081 LJers have voted.

As of right now, 150 thousand LJs have been updated in the past 24 hours.

The comparison of those two numbers is beyond disappointing.

We need to get more of LJ membership involved in this election.
Because if they were, the argument about this being a cult of personality election, or the 'sockpuppet vote' issue? These would not be issues.

If you haven't voted?
Please do so!

And encourage others to do so.
This election, this council position, is a chance for the users of LJ to have a voice on the Advisory Council. Don't throw it away.

The most important thing you can do besides vote is to pass this along and make sure that everyone else passes it along.

Consider this the most important Meme LJ has ever had.

Haunters for Hooters on Rotting Flesh Radio!

Rotting Flesh Radio
Haunter for Hooters - Haunters Helping Haunters Fight Breast Cancer

(Note: Rotting Flesh Radio is the haunted industry's podcast - if you've not heard of it yet, definitely click on the above links! Jonathan does a great job with this show.)

(Note 2: I apologize for all of the ads/serious-type posts. After the council elections and Midwest are over, things should lighten up around here as far as the public posts go.)

Dang it!

First off: How the heck can any one human being own enough t-shirts to fill three drawers?

I keep getting rid of clothing. And then I go to put laundry away and realize I still have far too much stuff.

I think someone is sneaking in here and adding to my wardrobe while I'm at work.
*nod*
(...But I like their fashion sense, which makes the effort to jettison belongings all that much harder.)

Also:

Ok, so. I was given a Macy's gift card - $25 - and I couldn't find anything that I really really wanted.

I finally settled on a pair of jeans that, truth be told, I had no business buying, but they fit (everything but the length) and they were $9.99.

And...I have no bloody idea where they are.

Making this image remarkably appropriate. )

obligatory cat post

In the past month or so, Lurk has a had definite breakthrough of some sort in his fuzzy little mind that now allows him to sit on the same chair as I do.

He is currently sitting sorta behind/sorta beside me as I type, draped over the arm of this wingback green chair.

I am incredibly proud of him.

Maybe I *don't* have to buy him a sofa after all. *snortle*

(I'm not ruling out the idea of getting some sort of loveseat when I move..I think the living room in the house might allow for one. And I don't know that a double pappasan is all that practical or affordable.)

gratuitious video link

Sometimes rock duets end up being too much about one person outsinging the other.

This is an example of how good it is when it's done right.
(I loves me some Toni Childs...and yes, that's a 'baby' Etheridge singing back up vocals!)

And also...damn, I loved this band. They played many shows in Philly a lifetime ago, and I loved every single performance I could attend.
